Our route - Day 6. Click on the map to enlarge.

Day 6 - This was our last day cycling during which we covered the Western area, just behind the lines.  From Auchonvillers we set off initially in a Southerly direction aiming for Martinsart.  This was our first stop where, being sailors, we made a point of visiting the grave of Lt Cdr F S Kelly DSC RNVR (A friend of Rupert Brooke).  From Martinsart we continued south to Bouzincourt and the 3 cemeteries there before continuing on to Millencourt.  Lavieville was our Southern most point that day and from there, we zig zagged Northwards before finally reaching Acheux en Amienois.  This was the end of our trip and we had covered 215 miles in 18 hours 24 minutes of cycling.  Our original intention had been to visit 150 by cycle but the logistics and timing made this impossible for us.  We managed 141 but visited a further 9 by trusty Land Rover.  To all of those people who supported us we thank you very much as without your help, we would not have achieved our aim.
