| Day 1 - We arrived at Auchonvillers at approximately 2:00pm. Knowing that we had a busy schedule and that the weather forecast for the coming few days was good, we set out almost immediately. Quickly unpacking and assembling the bikes we elected to try and complete the first part of our route by visiting 17 cemeteries. We set out from Auchonvillers in a circle to the North and East with our first stop along the D163 at Beaumont Hamel. From there we crossed the hill via track to Redan Ridge before dropping on to the D919, Serre Road. Turning South West we again followed tracks towards Ten Tree Alley, Munich and New Munich Cemeteries before rejoining the D163E. This set us up nicely to head towards the RND monument at Beaucourt before completing the circle back towards Y Ravine, Hunters and finally the Canadian Memorial Park at Beaumont Hamel. |
